Terms of Service

1. Educational purpose — not financial advice

MarketPulse is a daily multiple-choice quiz about financial markets, intended solely for education and entertainment. Nothing on the Service constitutes investment advice, financial advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any security, or a solicitation of any transaction. We are not a licensed broker, dealer, investment adviser, or financial planner. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions and should consult a qualified professional before acting on any information you encounter here or elsewhere.

2. Content is AI-assisted and may be inaccurate

Quiz questions, explanations, and summaries are generated with the help of large language models and may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any content. Linked third-party sources (such as news publishers) are provided for reference only and are not endorsed by us.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using MarketPulse you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

4. Accounts and authentication

Accounts are created via email magic link or Google sign-in, handled by our auth provider. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the email account tied to your login. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably suspect of fraud.

5. Free trial, subscription, and billing

New accounts receive a 10-day free trial of Pro features. After the trial, Pro access requires a paid subscription at the price shown on the upgrade page (currently USD 9.99/month). Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the Manage Subscription portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain Pro access until then.

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Taxes may apply based on your location. Prices may change on 30 days' notice; changes do not affect the current billing period.

6. Refunds

Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• share, resell, or redistribute Service content without our written permission;
• scrape, mirror, or systematically extract questions, answers, or explanations;
• reverse-engineer, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with Service operation;
• create multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboards, streaks, or rankings;
• use the Service in violation of any law or third-party right.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, and generated questions and explanations, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. All other rights are reserved. News article titles and publisher names remain the property of their respective owners.

9. User-provided information

If you set a display name, avatar, or location, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display those on leaderboards and in friend features. Do not use content that is offensive, impersonates another person, or infringes any right. We may remove or edit such content at our discretion.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or investment losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately; sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, by in-app notice. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Singapore, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
